What's included in a solar and battery package?

A complete package can include the battery, inverter where required, installation, commissioning, and relevant electrical work. The exact configuration depends on your existing solar system, household energy use and property.

If you already have solar, an AC-coupled battery can sometimes be added without replacing a compatible existing solar inverter. We'll assess your current system before recommending an approach.

Do batteries work properly in cold weather?

Yes, provided the battery is installed and operated within its specified temperature range. This is particularly relevant in the upper Blue Mountains, where winter temperatures can be much lower than Sydney.

Battery placement can help. A suitable garage or sheltered location may provide a more appropriate environment than an exposed outdoor position, depending on the system and property.

Will a battery keep my power on during an outage?

A compatible system can provide backup to selected circuits during an outage. Which appliances and circuits remain powered depends on your battery, inverter and installation design.

It does not automatically provide whole-home backup. We'll explain exactly what your proposed system can and cannot run before installation.

Can I add a battery to my existing solar panels?

Often, yes. A site assessment will check your existing solar inverter, panels, switchboard, system configuration and available space.

Adding storage to compatible existing solar can be a practical option if your panels are still performing well. We'll assess the system you already have rather than assuming you need to replace it.

Does a heavily shaded roof rule out solar and battery?

Not necessarily. Heavy shading can reduce solar generation, but it does not automatically rule out a battery.
