Areas We Service Across Central Coast

Wherever you are on the Coast, there's a good chance we've already installed nearby.

Gosford & Surrounds

The Coast's commercial hub, with a mix of older brick homes and newer townhouses close to the station and hospital precinct. Many properties here still run solar installed under the early NSW schemes, making them prime candidates for battery retrofit. Covers: Gosford, East Gosford, West Gosford, Point Clare, Narara, Wyoming, Springfield, Niagara Park, and Lisarow.

Erina, Terrigal, & the Coastal Strip

Established freestanding homes with good roof space, many within earshot of the surf. Salt exposure along this stretch shapes where equipment gets sited and how it's enclosed. Covers: Erina, Erina Heights, Terrigal, Wamberal, Forresters Beach, and North Avoca.

Avoca, Kincumber, & the Southern Beaches

A tight-knit run of beachside and semi-rural blocks with strong rooftop solar uptake already. Storage is usually being added to a system that's been generating for years, not installed alongside brand new panels. Covers: Avoca Beach, Copacabana, MacMasters Beach, Kincumber, Saratoga, Davistown, and Green Point.

Woy Woy & the Peninsula

Freestanding weatherboard and brick homes on a stretch that knows its share of storm outages. Backup circuits come up early in most conversations here. Covers: Woy Woy, Umina Beach, Ettalong Beach, Blackwall, Booker Bay, Empire Bay, Killcare, and Hardys Bay.

The Entrance, Long Jetty, & Bateau Bay

Dense beachside blocks with older solar systems and consistently high summer demand. A common job here is checking whether the existing inverter can take a battery or needs AC coupling. Covers: The Entrance, Long Jetty, Bateau Bay, Shelly Beach, Killarney Vale, Berkeley Vale, and Tumbi Umbi.

Wyong, Tuggerah, & the Warnervale Corridor

Newer growth-area homes alongside established streets, many with larger roofs and room to spare for equipment. Three-phase power is more common here than closer to the coast. Covers: Wyong, Tuggerah, Warnervale, Hamlyn Terrace, Wadalba, Watanobbi, and Kanwal.

Toukley, Budgewoi, & the Northern Lakes

Lakeside and beachside homes further from the metro grid, where longer overhead runs mean outages can take a bit longer to restore. A backup circuit tends to matter more out this way. Covers: Toukley, Noraville, Norah Head, Budgewoi, San Remo, Blue Haven, Lake Munmorah, and Gwandalan.

Ourimbah & the Hinterland

Acreage and semi-rural properties with plenty of roof and ground space, but longer driveways and overhead lines that call for a proper look before quoting. Bushfire-season outages are a real consideration here. Covers: Ourimbah, Kariong, Somersby, Matcham, Holgate, Mangrove Mountain, and Peats Ridge.

Where a Battery Can Go in a Central Coast Home

Most Coast homes are freestanding, with a garage, carport or side wall to work with, which makes this an easier siting conversation than it usually is in Central Coast.

What a site assessment
looks at

  • Clearances from doors and windows
  • Ventilation
  • Proximity to fuel sources
  • Access for servicing
  • Salt exposure in beachfront suburbs, which affects where equipment sits and how it's enclosed

Adding Storage to An Older System

Most Coast jobs are a battery going onto solar that's already on the roof. Before we quote, we check:

  • Inverter age and type, and whether AC coupling is needed to connect a new battery to it without replacing the inverter
  • Existing system size
  • Whether the switchboard needs any work

Backup During Outages

  • A backup circuit keeps essentials like fridges, lights and internet running, but it won't run the whole house indefinitely. Worth planning for honestly, since storm and bushfire exposure, plus longer overhead runs through the hinterland, mean restoration can take longer here than in the metro.

All of it is governed by AS/NZS 5139, the standard that sets out battery positioning, clearances, and protection from hazards for home solar battery storage in Sydney installs. Full detail on what the standard requires is on our NSW installation page.

Possible Limitations

Apartments and most strata properties generally can't take a home solar battery, mainly due to common-wall clearance rules and shared electrical infrastructure.

Heritage-listed homes and narrow-access properties aren't ruled out, but nothing gets promised until someone's actually assessed the site.

Inner-city terraces and townhouses sit somewhere in between; wall space, meter box location and shared laneway access are the usual sticking points for solar and battery installation in the coast’s older, tighter streets

We'll walk you through what's realistic for your specific place before you commit to anything.

  • Safety

Our batteries use LiFePO4 chemistry with integrated fire suppression, installed to
AS/NZS 5139 by every crew, every time.

  • Proven track record

VoltX Energy has been recognised as a top 5 battery installer by SunWiz and sits behind thousands of Australian home installs, which is a big part of why we're regarded as a trusted solar battery installer in Central Coast, NSW.

  • End-to-end solar service

We handle the whole thing from an NSW base, so after-sales support is a local phone call, not a call centre overseas.

What Our Customers Say

Stellar Workmanship and Professional Installation

“VoltX Energy's customer service and workmanship has been stellar. They are also very competitive. The technical team is well-versed in all aspects of battery and electrical technology. I had my 48kW system installed within 4 days of paying my nominal deposit. The installation team were very professional and collaborative. They did a super neat job taking the cabling through our double brick walls and through the roof cavity to the meter box. They installed the additional circuit breaker at the main power board and connected everything up very professionally. They cleaned up after the work and left the place tidy.”

Ram, NSW

Huge Difference in Our Monthly Electricity Bill

“Our electricity bills, even with solar and a small battery, were still $400-$600 per month, so we got a VoltX Energy system installed. From receiving the quote to installation was about a week! We realized our usage was so high we struggled to charge the battery, but they set it up so we could get a feed-in from the grid at off-peak. Changed providers and now our bill is around $170 per month! It definitely has made a huge difference. Everyone we have dealt with has been amazing.”

Clay Potts, NSW

Professional Setup Built for Smart Off-Peak Charging

“I got the VoltX Energy battery system installed at our semi. The installation team were very quick and efficient and installed the system exactly where I wanted it with minimal disruption. There were no hidden extra costs. The system works perfectly with no problems. Once setup, it’s easy to see consumption from the batteries. If the batteries need a grid top-up, you can set the recharge time to when the rates are the lowest cost for you, taking full advantage of off-peak pricing.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Central Coast suburbs and postcodes do you service?

VoltX Energy services the whole Central Coast, from Gosford and the coastal strip down to the southern beaches, across the Peninsula, The Entrance and Long Jetty, the Wyong–Tuggerah corridor, the northern lakes, and the hinterland. See the postcode lists above for your area. In case you postcode or suburb is not on the list, you may still fill-out this form so we can add you on our waitlist. You'll be one of the first to know in case we start installing on your suburb.

How much does a solar battery cost on the Central Coast?

Cost depends on usable capacity, single-phase vs three-phase power, whether a new or hybrid inverter is needed, and whether it's a retrofit or new system. Use our solar calculator for a number based on your own usage.

What solar and battery promotions are available on the Central Coast right now?

Current NSW-wide offers and rebates apply to Central Coast households. Full detail is on our promotions page.

Can I add a battery to my existing solar panels?

Yes, and it's the most common job we do here. Most Central Coast enquiries are retrofits onto older solar systems rather than new installs.

How long does solar battery installation take on the Central Coast?

Most installs are completed in a single day once the site assessment and fixed quote are done, though older switchboards or inverters needing an upgrade can add time.

Will a battery keep my power on during an outage?

A backup circuit will keep essentials like fridges, lights and internet running during an outage, but it won't power the whole house indefinitely. We'll size this honestly based on what matters most to your household.

Do I need approval from my electricity network?

Most residential installs need network notification or approval. The Central Coast sits within a single distributor's network, which keeps this reasonably straightforward, and we handle the application for you.

What size solar battery do I need for a Central Coast home?

It depends on your household's evening usage, existing solar system size, and whether you want backup for essential circuits or the whole home. Our solar battery calculator or free consultation uses your actual usage data to size this properly rather than guessing.
